Musings of a Museum Fanatic: April 2014

Tunes on Tuesday: Wedding Playlist

One of the most important parts of our wedding reception was the song playlist. Most people think it's weird to spend as much time as we did on it or to stipulate that the deejay play only our selections. After being to weddings, events and bars where the deejay ends up playing crap songs that scare people off the dance floors Kevin and I vowed our dance song selections would be the best!

It was our goal to make sure that everyone had a great time, not just our friends and not just my grandma. So when we started making out list we would check with people to see what they thought of a song and there were definitely changes made after our panels were consulted. There were also some instances where I ended up having to veto some of Kevin's choices too ... sorry sweetie no you may not have seven disco songs!

While the entire list is waaaaay too long to share right now here are some of our must haves for our wedding playlist.

Beer Barrel Polka
This one is a two for one song being German you have to at least one polka and the fact that this is part of the Valpo fight song obviously that's getting played! Seriously though a dry campus school with that as part of the fight song? How did that happen?

Stand By Me by Ben E. King
I feel like this song is always one of those under appreciated oldie's love songs. It's one of my favorites and it was totally a wedding must play for me even before I met Kevin! I may or may not make Kevin slow dance to it with me in our living room every now and then ...

Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees
See I was nice and gave Kevin one disco song! We must have gone through dozens of disco songs for the right one that we thought people would actually enjoy dancing to. There really are some disco tunes that just are NOT dance tunes haha.

Sweet Home Chicago by The Blues Brothers
Any Chicagoian worth their salt has this song on their wedding playlist. Pretty sure it's also mandatory for all Chicago area deejays to play it during their sets.

Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John
It was really difficult picking a Disney song to include on the playlist. I didn't want to pick one that was so obviously Disney and would just be weird, so that meant anything from the Sleeping Beauty soundtrack was out. Then we remembered the whole romantic ballads of the 90's & 2000's being sung by big stars! Duh! What better choice than a Elton John singing Lion King?! That's right nothing is better!

In My Head by Jason Derulo
The end of the night was chock full of more recent dance hits. This was one Stache was doing for forever that Kevin actually still likes. Plus one that my friends and I love so it was a natural choice.

We had such a diverse wedding playlist you could tell everyone really enjoyed themselves all night. It was great to hear months after how much people enjoyed the dancing and music at our wedding!

Our engagement

Coming up in a week is Kevin and my second wedding anniversary so I thought I would devote this week to those wedding posts I've been promising for at least a year now!

Let's travel back all the way to April 14, 2011 ...

A few days before Kevin's mom and I were planning on getting together that Thursday (April 14) for some shopping. I had a meeting that morning and would head on up after. That day dawned bright and nice outside, my meeting ended up ending really quickly and I decided to just head straight up to Palatine. I figured if she wasn't ready yet I could just hang out and check my email or something.

I get into Kevin's neighborhood and then park in front of his house while I finish up a conversation with my Dad on how the meeting went. All of a sudden I notice that Kevin is coming out of his parent's house with his arms flailing ... to Dad "why is Kevin at his parents house?" "why does he look so angry?"

After his bluster calmed down for a minute and he was finally not doing his gibberish words he finally spit out that "I was early!" You must know that I ended up being 40 minutes earlier than the decided on time. Again I just figured I could hang out while Kevin's mom finished getting ready.
I then noticed he was hiding something behind his back ... Tangled! I was so excited since I had asked for it for my birthday, which was only five days away.

He was so discouraged that I was early and was refusing to show me what his plan was and he was so excited because he had actually listened to me and planned something. Finally I was able to convince him to take me through it even though it wasn't really ready. So starting off he had gotten his mom to write a note that would be on the front door telling me to come on in. I would walk in and see something right in the foyer which was supposed to lead me to his old bedroom which was supposed to lead me to the living room then to the bathroom. At each stop there was a little thing or gift. Finally I was supposed to be led back to the foyer where Kevin was supposed to be hiding in the front closet and would pop out when I was back.

Until probably the last stop of the scavenger I was still under the impression that it was something he was doing for my birthday. Then when were in the foyer he got down on one knee and said some amazing things (honestly I have no idea what they are, all I remember is being so excited and happy!) and opened up the ring box. It might seem a little weird for him to be proposing to me in his parents foyer but that's where we met in person for the first time. So it only makes sense right!? Oh I said yes by the way : )

Chicago in the Spring

Spring has FINALLY hit the Chicago area! It only took an extra two months. Spring is the start of so many exciting and fun things to do and see.

No matter if you're a Northside fanatic or Southside die hard spring means the start of baseball season. Even though we're more of Cubs fans last season we got an awesome chance (thanks to Kevin's company) to take in a game at the Cell in a box. It was pretty fabulous. A great way to take in the Cubs is to get rooftop seats.

Festival Season
Most of the festivals are in the summer but there are always some awesome ones that start up in the spring, including at least half a dozen Mayfest festivals and an exciting new one, New Orleans festival.  How can you go wrong when the weather turns nice and you're out enjoying a (hopefully) good band and a cool drink?

Farmer's Markets
This is probably my favorite thing to do when spring hits. The past few years great farmer's markets have popped up all over Chicago and the suburbs. For a year round fix the Chicago French Market is awesome, they don't just have veggies and stuff like that there are a number of eateries as well. Check out this webpage for a pretty comprehensive list of Illinois farmer's markets.

Judy Istock Butterfly Haven
Part of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum right in the middle of Lincoln Park this beautiful prairie and garden exhibit features thousands of amazing butterflies. When my friend Lauren and I went to the Peggy in the fall we were able to go through the prairie but none of the butterflies were there anymore. I'm looking forward to going again when I can actually see them!

I don't know about anyone else but I'm super excited for the warm weather and the chance to do some awesome Chicago spring things!

Too Many Doctors ugh!

I apologize for a somewhat messed up week here on Musings of a Museum Fanatic. My stomach issues from the weekend bled over into the week and now two doctors visits and a trip to the ER I'm at home resting. Everything came back normal so the doctors aren't sure what's going on with me. Mom seems to think I've inherited her nervous stomach and yes that's what the doctors call it!

So as of now they have no idea why I'm feeling the way I am at this point. Most of my stomach issues usually arise from being stressed and anxious. Things have been quite stressful with many aspects of life. Unfortunately the biggest ones require getting new jobs for Kevin and me! Well we shall see what happens : ) I will be back with something better tomorrow I promise!

Seriously- why worry?

Smokey Black Bean Chicken Wraps Freezer Meal

Kevin and I decided to pull out one of the freezer meals we prepped at the beginning of the month. Since the chicken wraps didn't require extra ingredients that we forgot at the store this week it was a perfect fit! Be sure to to refer back to that post for the freezing instructions and how to cook the chicken.

Smokey Black Bean Chicken Wraps Freezer Meal

Ingredients to finish and serve:
½ cup water
4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
6 11-in. flour tortillas
Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and barbecue sauce or Louisiana hot sauce (optional)

1.  Add contents of Bag 1 and water to 12 inch Skillet; cover.

2. Cook over medium-high heat 6-8 minutes or until hot, breaking chicken apart as necessary using Bamboo Spatula.

3. Add contents of Bag 2 to Skillet; cook 4-6 minutes or until mixture is heated through.

4. Assemble wraps with desired toppings.

5. Eat!

** Original directions say to "roll up tortillas tightly. Cut wraps in half on a bias and serve." but we just served it like tacos**

Tunes on Tuesday: Violin

One of the biggest surprises that I give people is when I tell them I played the violin all the time for about ten years. It's always a good one to stump people on when playing "Three Truths and a Lie". After going to college and since then I've kept it to playing once and a while, for fun.
I don't remember the first time I can actually remember my great uncle playing his violin but I can remember when I first attempted it! The photo above is my great Uncle Rich helping me to play his full size violin. Let's just say a small third grader who ended starting out with half size violin looked just a little bit silly with the full size one.

After that night I wanted to play the violin so badly. My parents being the amazing parents that they were found me a teacher and started me up. They started me off with a teacher who taught the Suzuki method. Even now any time I hear any of the songs it brings back fond memories of recitals and playing for my parents every evening for my mandatory half hour practice.

These two videos are two of my favorite songs from Book One and Two of the Suzuki method. Even now when I pick up my violin on occasion to play these two definitely make an appearance on the playlist.

Even though I don't play as much anymore listening to violin music still is a soft spot for me and I'm still drawn to it. I used to dream about becoming an amazing player and doing amazing things like the dueling violins in Riverdance.

Alas like many things of our childhood the violin is destined to remain a hobby of mine but I know I will definitely enjoy playing and listening to it for years and years to come.

Free For All: Annoying Celebs

Celebrities are probably one of the most consistently annoying things to me, besides certain people I know in real life of course. It feels like lately there are certain ones that just keep bugging the crap out of me. It's like everything they do I just go "UGH go away!"

Miley Cyrus
First off that whole thing with you and the 23 song wearing Jordan's jersey makes me and probably every other person in Chicago want to punch you in the face. You're not good enough to wear that number!! I used to actually respect and somewhat like her and her music. She's a good singer and then had to go and ruin it all with this bad girl routine. I don't get why she can't just continue to make good music that everyone can enjoy instead of trying to prove she's all that all while alienating the very demographic that made her a celeb in the first place. Dumb!

Justin Bieber
Oh look it's like a deja vu all over again! Not going to lie I can't wait until you just fade away. Again with trying to be all hardcore and tough, you live in a gated community in LA, sorry but I don't buy it. Also this whole mustache thing you've been trying lately is terrible and you look like a creeper just no.

Lady Gaga
I feel like lately she's totally gone off the deep end with her fashion. Is it really necessary? Well I guess it might be since it's been a little while since she's done anything of note. Girlfriend get back to making good songs like "Just Dance" and "Bad Romance" don't worry so much about being weird and whatnot.

Where to even start with these two. First off I actually kinda like Kim when I watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians ... most of the time at least. In the beginning she seems kinda ditzy but nice for the most part. I know you'd think I'd be on team Kanye since he is from Chicago but again he seems to have taken an extra helping of crazy lately. Ranting about everything, demanding that Kim be in X, Y, and Z. I'm not sure anyone understands what you say when you open your mouth. Also this video is so beyond ridiculous! Her hair is blowing in the completely wrong direction the entire time! Pretty sure someone needs to get fired.

There are so many celebs but these guys really take the cake for me. What celeb really grinds your gears?

Pampered Chef: Top Gadgets

One of my absolute favorite things to get for our kitchen is gadgets. I LOVE gadgets. Seriously you ever go to Target or Sur La Table or anything similar I will always veer towards those types of products. At the large Bed, Bath and Beyond stores that huge wall of kitchen gadgets is my favorite thing. No matter how many times I've looked there I must look again! That's why I love all the amazing gadgets that the Pampered Chef has and they always comes out with new fabulous ones.

Starting off with my three top of the heap, all time favorites that every kitchen must have ... I present to you the Mix 'N Scraper®Mix 'N Masher and the Mix 'N Chop. These bad boys are the must haves in any kitchen. I have all three sizes of the Mix 'N Scraper and they all get used multiple times a week. The Mix 'N Masher is great for mashing up Kevin's avocados for the week and I'm definitely using the Mix 'N Chop tonight to take care of the ground beef for our tacos. If you know a Pampered Chef fanatic ask them about their Mix 'N Chop, there will be rave reviews!

Certain gadgets you feel like you would never use and you just can't imagine actually owning them. Well here are some random gadget you think you might not need but would actually get a lot of use out of. The Fruit & Cheese Cutter is one of those OMG it's so much fun but seriously I'd never use it items right? Well I'll have you know since I got them in the fall I've used them a dozen times. I know that doesn't seem like a lot in such a big time span but from something oddly unique like those guys I think it is. Every time I used them I was making pretty cheese and sausage for some sort of get together. I'd slice it to the thickness I wanted and then cut away with the shapes, then Kevin and I would use the leftover bits for a salad or tacos or something. People LOVED the shapes. They looked dynamite on the appetizer kebabs I made for Gamma Phi trivia night.

The Avocado Peeler is another gadget that gets a surprisingly large amount of use in our house. I'm using it at least once a week, twice if Kevin decides on getting another avocado. Microwave Grips are fantastic! You might be thinking oh my pot holders work just find ... and then you plunk your thumb right in to that yummy bowl of soup because of those big bulky pot holders. See you do need these fantastic little Microwave Grips after all! The Easy Read Measuring Colander is a totally go to product for me. As you can see it's great for being able to dump stuff out of a can and rinse. Plus the bottom is the perfect size to fit into a tuna can and press out all the excess liquid.

Last but certainly not least are three of my kitchen work horses. These three gadgets get the job done all the time in my house. Honestly I used to not be a big fan of the Measure-All® Cup. My mom has had one for years and I never really used it but since I've gotten my own kitchen I've started using it a TON. It's a great quick liquid measuring tool when you flip it over but the best part is using it for things like mayo and peanut butter. You just put the right amount in and press the mayo or whatever into your mixing bowl. No fuss, no mess and you get every last bit!
Before getting my Pampered Chef kit we never used fresh garlic in my house, maybe once and a while mom would get the minced garlic but it was always dried. Using fresh garlic that I pressed with the Garlic Press has been life changing. There is so much more flavor! It's nice because you can put each clove into the press with the skin and all. The little cleaning tool helps to get every last bit plus I've used it for a ton of other tasks, like getting out mini desserts from the Mini Muffin Pan. This Nylon Turner is a favorite too. The way it's designed makes it really easy to get items out of your pans in one whole piece. Plus it's nice and long for items like pancakes and larger pieces of fish.

These are just a few of the must have Pampered Chef gadgets! Are you a gadget person? What's your favorite from the Pampered Chef?

Tunes on Tuesday: Country Songs I Actually Like

You might not have noticed this yet on my Tunes on Tuesday posts but I don't include any country songs. For the most part I do NOT like country. I'm not sure what it is about the music but I just don't like it. Over the years a few songs have slipped through cracks and have ended up on my playlist from the country genre. Here are the few, the proud ... the only country songs I actually really like!

Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show
Like many a song I was introduced to this one by 'Stache. After they started playing it in their rock/country style I just had to get the original to listen to all the time (much to Kevin's delight of course) and I was super excited about the Old Crow Medicine Show version since it has an old timey 1930's folk feel to it more so than a straight up country feel.

Man I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain
My freshman year of high school in color guard we did our competition season program to this song. It's definitely a sentimental favorite. Pretty sure my mom and I listened the the album with this song on it hundreds of times.

Jolene by Dolly Parton
I find this song almost hauntingly pretty. She sounds so desperate asking Jolene to leave her man alone. Plus can it get anymore awesome than that outfit and hair? Dolly you're fabulous.

Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks
What person who grew up in the 90's doesn't like this song? I think it's a requirement or something.

Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy by Big And Rich
I know this song is terrible but I love it! It's so fun and upbeat. This song did make it on to our wedding play list too. Can't help it if it's a good dance tune.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels Band
Love this song! The violin part is killer. Makes me want to pull mine out from storage and learn this song.

Amazed by Lonestar
I know I've talked about this one before so I won't bore you. Just enjoy : )

So see everyone gives me grief and says I'm not open to new things and I should just give country a try. I do and I just have particular tastes and most of the time they run 90's that's all haha. I might regret asking but any suggestions on other country songs I might enjoy?

Top 10 Girl Power Movies

Girl power movies are right up there with how much I love romantic comedies ... a lot! You might think that most of these should be under the rom com genre but I beg to differ. For me it boils down to the one big difference of if the female lead didn't get the guy (and in some cases doesn't) she still rocked the entire movie.

Easy A
When this one first came out I knew I would enjoy it but I didn't realize it would turn into one of those movies I would watch over and over again. Olive helping the underdogs like she does and then when people start to judge her not taking any of that crap is awesome. Makes me wish I could have been more "don't take no crap from nobody" when I was in high school.

She's the Man
Viola is so focused on achieving her goals and getting her dreams that she's going to do what it takes! Even if it means doing things like impersonating her brother, who is also off pursuing his dreams. It's also great how Toby, the hot soccer player, is totally in to Eunice with all her wacky quirks the entire movie. Eunice has all the killer girl power moves going on.
Legally Blonde
Any girl worth her salt knows the fabulous girl power vibes coming from this movie! It's quite inspiring to see someone who only thinks she can succeed is with a guy realize she's amazing all on her own.

Sydney White
Can you tell I enjoy Amanda Bynes? Before she went cray cray most of her lead roles were of strong girls who know who they are and don't take crap from anyone. Based on Snow White, Sydney looses herself for a while but ends up just where she should be and helps the school.

Both versions of Hairspray are killer girl power movies. Tracy wants to dance on TV and makes it happen, while doing so gets her mom into the currant decade and integrates an entire city!

One of the best BFF movies out there! This movie shows how a friendship should be tons of fun, crazy things happening all the time, and even though you go through hard times in the end you're always there for each other.

Ella Enchanted
This was one of those movies where it made a big splash because it was based off a popular book or maybe it was just a favorite in our household since my mom is a librarian. I feel like

Bend It Like Beckham
For some reason I seem to have a soccer theme going on here today. Obviously soccer is an empowering women kind of sport! Bend it Like Beckham isn't just a pursuing your dreams kind of movie it's a growing up and getting your parents to accept you and your passions type one as well.

Charlie's Angles
I mean really do we need to say anymore than Cameron, Lucy and Drew totally kicking bad guy ass? Oh and looking oh so stylish and fabulous while doing so. For years I wanted my hair to look exactly like Drew's in this movie, love it!

All About Steve
Yes the whole premise of the movie is that she's chasing a guy (I'd probably chase Bradley Cooper too!) but along the way she finds herself and does some amazing things like rescuing a little girl from the collapsed mine.

What's your favorite girl power film?

DIY: Ribbon Door Letter

So I have to confess now I had this totally awesome idea and thought it would be a super easy project but it definitely did not end up that way!! For my first DIY project I came up with on my own, aka without Pinterest help, I feel like it turned out pretty well. This is a great one for any season and with any color scheme. I had a TON of leftover ribbon from our wedding so I thought it would be fun to start out with that color scheme. Maybe when Christmas rolls around I'll do a Christmas themed one.

What you need:
Large paper mache letter
Ribbons of all different colors and sizes
Hot Glue gun

1. Measure and cut ribbons so they wrap around the flat parts of the letter. It doesn't have to go all the way around since the ends of the ribbon will be on the back side.

2. Glue one end on the back. When glue is dry on first end pull ribbon tight around letter and glue second end on the back of the letter.

3. Do this in whatever ribbon pattern you prefer on the flat parts of the letter. I attempted to do a green-blue-green pattern

4. I tried two different corner methods. In the first photo I attempted to start from the middle and move outwards. The second method (second photo) of moving towards the center and finally putting one ribbon to cover the ends worked much better!

5. Cut one long ribbon the length you want it to hang. Glue end to one side. On top of ribbon put another dab of glue and push a thumb tack through glue and letter.

6. Hang in your desired spot!  As soon as I can find my door hook this bad boy is going out on our door.

Recipes: Freezer Meals

One of our biggest challenges lately has been meal prepping. Kevin and do pretty well one week but the next the entire thing goes out the window because I have a meeting or we both had long days at work and are just too tired. Well thanks to my handy dandy 101 list putting on the pressure and Kevin having knee surgery I decided I needed to get my act together and finally make some freezer meals.

The ones I chose to do are part of the Pampered Chef's power cooking. It's a cooking show idea for those who want to make freezer meals and meal prep. There are chicken and ground beef versions, I chose to do chicken since I liked the recipe choices that went along with them!
So to start off you cook your main protein ...

Make Ahead Chicken
3 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 tbsp vegetable oil

1. Cut chicken into ½-in. cubes using Chef’s Knife.
2. Heat oil in (12-in.) Skillet over medium-high heat for 1-3 minutes or until shimmering. Add chicken and
cook 7-10 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Drain chicken, if necessary.
3. Divide chicken into three portions.

After you've got your Make Ahead Chicken taken care of you pull together the meal bags for the recipes you chose. The Pampered Chef gives five recipes that can be made for each type of protein. They have you making three pounds of meat for three recipes because it's supposed to be a power cooking show but if you're doing it like me, just for your family, you could totally up the ante and do all five. I wasn't a fan of the other two chicken recipes so I stuck with three : )

Chicken Stir Fry Bag
To prepare and freeze
1 portion Make-Ahead Chicken
1 cup frozen shelled edamame (soybeans)
2/3 cup prepared stir-fry sauce
2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into julienne strips
3 cups small broccoli florets
2 tbsp Asian Seasoning Mix

1. Prepare and freeze
• In Bag 1, combine chicken, edamame and stir-fry sauce.
• In Bag 2, combine carrots, broccoli and seasoning mix.
• Seal Bag 2 and place into Bag 1; seal. Freeze for up to
three months.

Greek Chicken and Orzo Skillet
To prepare and freeze
1 portion Make-Ahead Chicken
2 medium zucchini, cut into¼-in. pieces
1 can (15 oz) garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14 oz) garlic and onion flavored diced tomatoes
3 tbsp Greek Rub

1. Prepare and freeze
• In Bag 1, combine chicken and zucchini.
• In Bag 2, combine beans, tomatoes and rub.
• Seal Bag 2 and place into Bag 1; seal. Freeze for up to
three months

Smoky Black Bean Chicken Wraps
To prepare and freeze
1 portion Make-Ahead Chicken
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
2-3 tbsp Smoky Barbecue Rub, divided
2 cups cooked rice
1. Prepare and freeze
• In Bag 1, combine chicken, beans and 1-2 tbsp of the rub.
• In Bag 2, combine rice and remaining 1 tbsp rub.
• Seal Bag 2 and place into Bag 1; seal. Freeze for up to three

**Disclaimer** These aren't the entire recipes, obviously for some there are the ingredients you use to finish off the recipe (like tortillas). Since we haven't eaten our freezer meals the finishing part will be coming up soon : )

Tunes on Tuesday: Top 10 Hair Metal Songs

Hair metal is one of those genres of music where you either love it and think it's the most amazing thing in the world or you hate it and want to poke people's eyes out when you hear it played at baseball stadiums. Yeah "Don't Stop Believing" I'm talking about you! Obviously I am one of those people who LOVES hair metal. I'm not sure what exactly makes me love it so much but I do. Like most genres of music there are songs that you just need to have on that playlist or else it's not really complete. So here are not only my top 10 favorites but also the top picks you really need to make sure are on your hair metal play list!

Here I Go Again by Whitesnake
I'm not sure when exactly my obsessive love for this song started, probably somewhere between my third and fourth internships and second project position. Since I went through at that crazy with trying to get what seemed like my entire life going for years it just speaks to me and empowers me. If you don't feel like taking over the world by the end of the song replay it and try again.

Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses
Obviously there has to be a Guns N Roses song on this list or it wouldn't be complete and I know some people might say Sweet Child is the cliche song to pick. It was a tight race with Welcome to the Jungle. You just can't get anymore hair metal than the guitar solo in Sweet Child though, it's just so goooood!

No One Like You by Scorpions
Yes I know Rock You Like Hurricane is way more popular but No One Like You is my favorite Scorpions song.

Jukebox Hero by Foreigner
I was never a huge fan of this song until just a couple of years ago when I saw Rock of Ages. The way they covered the song in the movie was awesome so I decided to give the original another try ... or 10 ... I think Kevin wanted to kill me after I played it so many times haha.

Jump by Van Halen
Jump is definitely the most cliche and obvious Van Halen pick but you can't help but really enjoy the song. Seriously you can't be sitting at your computer right now listening to it and tell me you're not itching to stand up and jump? If you do you're totally lying and I'm calling you on it!! It's all I can do right now not to get up and bounce around our living room.

Shadows of the Night by Pat Benatar
While this song isn't quite a hair metal song per se I think it's close enough that we're going to count it today. When I listen to this song it gives me the same crazy awesome feeling that other hair metal songs do.

You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi
This was an incredibly hard choice for me since Bon Jovi had so many awesome hits in the 80's. You Give Love A Bad Name has some inside jokes behind it so that's why it ultimately won the three way tie. Bad Medicine and Livin' On A Prayer should definitely be on your hair metal playlist too.

Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard
Same thing with Def Leppard and their oh so many awesome tunes. You really can't go wrong with Pour Some Sugar On Me since everyone always knows this song it's a good transition song for those people who aren't huge hair metal fans. Get them hooked and dancing to this one and then hit them with the rest of the awesomeness.

I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister
Really what else is there to say? Pretty sure Dee said it best : )

Cum On Feel The Noize by Quiet Riot
I just love the energy that this song puts out. This is a great pump you up for your work out song. Seriously try it.

Now that I've started off your hair metal play list with my favorite 10 tunes feel free to keep adding to it because seriously this barely scratched the surface of hair metal amazingness. What's your favorite hair metal tune?
