Let's Be Friends Blog Hop [Link up]

Welcome to the Let's Be Friends Blog Hop!

A blog hop is a set time frame for current or aspiring bloggers to find new blogs and quality content. It is a great way to make new friends and find inspiration! It is also a fabulous way to promote your own blog and posts.

Dear Friends,
What a day to celebrate! This is the 124th week of the Let's Be Friends blog hop! Thanks for joining us on this special day. Chelsee and Tiffany are extremely delighted to see the way this hop has grown and love to see your faces each week!

Join us every Tuesday at 7am (MST). This blog hop focuses on content. LINK UP YOUR FAVORITE POST from last week in this fun content-sharing blog hop! I love the idea of blog hopping, but I love the idea of reading posts and quality content on new blogs I've never been to even more. Instead of simply linking up your blog button, you are now able to link up your favorite post you recently wrote. Have a delicious recipe to share, DIY tutorial, or heartfelt post? Share it with us! All hosts and co-hosts put up some unique and fun content from the past week. Make sure to check them out. P.S.- you may still link up your blog button and blog name, but it is encouraged to link up your favorite post instead. You will get more page views and interest if you do so! Some of the most successful blog hops I have participate in focus on content rather than just exchanging follows. You never know who will become a loyal follower or pin that delicious new recipe you posted!

The BEST part of this blog hop? Each week there will be a WINNER! That's right, each week we will choose one lucky blog to feature from the previous week's hop. This hop receives thousands of page views every week, so your blog will have the chance to be center stage for free. You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win. Only those who link up a specific post are eligible to be featured! *You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win.

The last exciting change is that the co-host spots will now be available to all sponsors of The Dwelling Tree or Southern Beauty Guide. If you are interested in co-hosting the blog hop, email Tiffany or Chelsee about sponsorship opportunities and how to co-host the weekly hop!
There are a couple of great giveaways going on right now at Southern Beauty Guide and The Dwelling Tree. Go check them out! :)

Winks and Eyerolls
Hello everyone! This is Tiffany. This week I chose this post because it is so true! I don't know why, but people say the weirdest things to pregnant people. I resonated with so many points of this post. I still remember a lady looking at me when I was at the gym and about 36 weeks and saying, out loud, "Wow, are you gonna have your baby today?"! I was totally embarrassed. This is a great list to read and remember for all your pregnant friends.
I love Sierra and Faith and their blog Winks and Eyerolls. They are really great and have an amazing blog filled with awesome content! Go follow them!

Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for us to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

Reviews, Chews, and How-tos
Hi friends! This is Chelsee this week. I am constantly looking for new recipes for Taco Tuesday, because let's face it...eating the same boring tacos every Tuesday does get old. In last week's hop I came across this post from Reviews, Chews, and How-tos! I just knew I had to try this recipe and thought that my fellow Taco lovers would enjoy this as well. I have added this to the list of recipes to try and I plan on making this soon!

Happy Birthday Kevin!

I should have shared this yesterday when it was his actual birthday but belated is still ok right?

Happy Birthday Kevin!!!

My wonderful husband turned 31 yesterday. It's still so weird to think we're in our 30's. We went out to dinner with his parents to a fun new Pac Man themed place by us called, Level 257, look for more photos soon. He was very happy to have a laid back birthday, even if I did beat him every air hockey game.

We're off to Wisconsin to do some fishing this weekend! Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend and here's hoping I catch the biggest fish!

I do not currently schedule my pins, but after reading this amazing post by The Pin Junkie, I need to start doing this! Crab Ravioli in Creamy Tomato Sauce

Crab Ravioli in Creamy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

1 (6 oz) can lump crabmeat
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 (12 oz) package wonton wrappers
1 egg, beaten (I totally forgot to save an egg this week so I ended up using water instead, worked just fine!)
1 cup milk
1 (1.3 oz) package creamy tomato sauce mix (recommended: Knorr)
2 tablespoons butter
Chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions

1. Drain crabmeat, reserving liquid.

2. In a small bowl, combine crabmeat, cheese, and Italian seasoning.

3. Brush a wonton wrapper with the beaten egg. Place about 1/2 teaspoon crab mixture in the center, and fold wrapper diagonally to create a triangle. Press edges to seal. Transfer to a flour-dusted baking sheet. Repeat until all of crab filling has been used.

4. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil.

5. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine milk and reserved crab liquid over medium-high heat. Whisk in sauce, add butter, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. Keep sauce warm over low heat while you boil the ravioli.

6. In batches of 6 to 8, drop ravioli into boiling water.

7. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until ravioli rise to the surface. With a slotted spoon, carefully transfer ravioli to sauce. Repeat until all ravioli are cooked. Divide ravioli equally among 8 plates.

8. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

This recipe was a big hit in our house plus it was simple to make on a weeknight with a fresh green salad. Next time we make this I would space the filling out a little more and actually add the cooked ravioli to the sauce like the original directions said! They got a little stuck together when we went back for seconds.

Three-Course Private Label Wine Pairing at Harvest Restaurant

This past week I was invited to a Three-Course Private Label Wine Pairing at the Harvest Restaurant at Pheasant Run Resort. I was really excited to take Kevin out for a nice dinner close to our new digs and the menu sounded amazing. Neither of us had actually ever been to Pheasant Run Resort but with friends having worked there in the past and family raving about the resort we knew we were in for a wonderful evening.

When we got to Harvest we were seated right away in these awesome large over sized booths. I love booths like that, it's like you're in your own little world. Right away Jeanette, our fabulous waitress, brought out the homemade bread and wine for our first course, Pheasant Run Ringneck Red. The red was Kevin's favorite wine of three.

The first course was an amazing Duck Egg Rolls of roasted duck with brie cheese in a crispy egg roll with Ringneck Red wine reduction garnished with crunchy wasabi slaw. OH my goodness. These egg rolls were delicious. The first course had both of our votes as the best course. The creamy richness of the egg rolls were perfectly paired with the fresh crispy slaw. I thought the presentation, of all the courses really, was fun.

Next we had a wonderful entree of a sauteed jumbo prawn and a diver scallop on a bed of vegetable confetti quinoa served with Tiffany’s Toast Chardonnay Beurre Blanc paired with Tiffany’s Toast Chardonnay. Now I must warn you that Kevin and I are not fancy wine people, we felt that the pairing of the entree and chardonnay was the best of the meal. When you at the meal and drank the wine the food would really make the wine sing.

For me the wine, Pheasant Run Longtail White, paired with dessert was my favorite. It was a lighter crisper wine and wasn't as dry as the other two. Dessert was a Door County Sour Cherry Crisp paired with a homemade vanilla bean ice cream.

The entire dinner was wonderful, we both had a fantastic time and the food was great. The wine pairing dinners will be going on every Thursday in June so be sure to call now, 800-4-PHEASANT (474-3272), and make your reservation!

Life Or Something Like It

There has been a crazy amount of stuff going on in my life lately! I feel like I've been waiting for SO long to share some of it here too. Didn't want to jinx anything this time around I think, but now I can actually share it. So here are 10 things that have been going on in life lately.

1. The condo situation ... so back in April we were supposed to close with the buyers. It turned into a mess and they backed out. It was their issue and they just freaked out. So now we're having fun working on getting the earnest money because that's how earnest money works people! So we put it back on the market and that brings me to my next point ...

2. We are NOT homeowners anymore!!!!!!! As of 9am this morning we closed on the sale of the condo. After all the worrying about not being able to break even with the sale, the first buyer falling through and everything in between it feels awesome to say that first sentence.

3. After things being an annoying mess for almost 7 months I was finally officially made the Assistant Directory of the Museum! At the end the process only took a couple of weeks which is really annoying since it means people were just putzing around for 6 months but I'll take it!

4. Got to spend last Sunday hanging out with Stephanie and John! It was a fun afternoon of day drinking and 20 minutes of 'Stache before the downpour happened. John was out to get me totally drunk and I told him he could try but I would Jedi mind trick him, because that's how I roll. Guess what John? Yup. You were Jedi mind tricked.

5. Last Sunday I also had a fabulous brunch with my friend Lauren, from my Master's program. We ate at a little Irish bistro place, Mrs. Murphy & Sons, it was delicious.

6. Kevin and I got to babysit Lane. It was a lot of fun until we had issues haha. Kevin loved playing with Lane. In the photo he's taunting him with a piece of chocolate. The way Lane was eyeing the pizza and chocolate I think he might be ready for solid food.

7. This week I was invited for a fabulous dinner with wine pairings at Harvest at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, IL. Kevin and I had an awesome dinner, more to come with delicious looking photos on that one next week.

8. This goes with number 7 but I was finally able to meet one of the awesome Chicago bloggers I've known for quite a while ... Christine from Life With a Side of Coffee. We said we weren't going to do the weird I think I know you but can't quite place you thing but it so ended up happening! It's funny how you read someone every day and totally think you'd recognize them then don't right away!

9. I helped Mom out with some organizing that I've been meaning to do for probably months now. I went through her Tupperware cabinet, pulled everything out, made sure everything had a lid, sorted it and pulled out enough to fill and entire box for the garage sale. This was the counter mid pulling out

10. The Pampered Chef held a bunch of events around the country to celebrate the 35th birthday of the company! I was able to attend with a bunch of the ladies from my group. There were a bunch of prizes, unfortunately I wasn't lucky this time. I was lucky enough to get a selfie with Jean Jonas. She is one of the faces of the home office that we see all the time so it was fun to grab one with her!

Whew! A lot of great things have been happening in my neck of the woods lately. I'm glad summer is starting with a bang! How has your summer been starting off so far? Happy weekend!

Choose Your Own Adventure [Link Up]

Not Entirely Perfect

Another month has flown by and I'm linking up again with some fabulous ladies! Unfortunately this will be the last link up : ( Which makes me really sad! I love having a theme to my goals each month. Maybe I'll start the cycle again and do it all over. Who knows.

This past month was overall a success I think.
1. Read two books I own that can then be put in the garage sale.
2. Read and comment on 15 blogs every other day.
3. Read every week night before bed for at least 15 minutes.

I was able to do 1 and 3 successfully. I actually ended up reading three books & eliminating two I didn't realize I didn't really want to read. Both of these goals I am going to continue on with this summer in an effort to read through the books I only want to read once then can be put in the garage sale. This past month I actually found a good routine of reading 10-20 minutes at night before bed then during breakfast and for 5-10 minutes after.

Number 2 I didn't do as well as I wanted to. I probably commented on about 5-7 every other day. I'm going to keep working on this one in the future for sure.

Again I'm sad to see this link up end but I think this past year everyone rocked their goals out! It was awesome to see everyone achieving each month!!
