Finding new fun events around the Chicago area is always top on my to do list. As winter starts to set in the events start to become few and far between it seems. This week I discovered a new event that I'm so excited to attend this weekend!
December 2-4 the Lyceé Français de Chicago is holding their 12th annual French Market! You might not know this about me but I took French for 8 years, it was one of my minors and I love almost everything French and France related. So I am super stoked to attend. For the weekend the school is transformed into a Parisian Marché showcasing local and French artisan vendors, live music, and a family-run bistrot and patisserie.
For those who are still working on their holiday shopping the Market boasts 70 local and French artisan vendors selling goods that include apparel and accessories, jewelry, decorative art, fine wares, wood works, home décor, stationery, gourmet food, and more. I will definitely have to go shopping for my Christmas present for myself this weekend!
For those families who are looking to go, the Lyceé has partnered this year with Pickles Playroom to provide parents with a drop-off childcare option. For more details on this fantastic new benefit check out the website.
Don't those pastries look AMAZING!? I'm totally going for one of the Eiffel Tower pops if they're there this year. This awesome event is even more amazing since it's run almost entirely by the parents of students (almost 300 volunteers!). With that kind of support and hard work it's no surprise that this Market is celebrating it's 12th year and continues to be a great fundraiser for the school.
The market will be held at the Lycée Français de Chicago campus, 1929 W. Wilson Ave., Chicago, IL 60640. Street or paid garage parking is available (Ravenswood Garage, 4551 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60640).
