Musings of a Museum Fanatic: About Me

About Me

Hey all!  I see you've found your way to my little corner of the interwebs.

Welcome!  I'm Betsy. I'30(ish) flirty & thriving  a born and bred (except a 5 winter stint in Minnesota eh) Chicagoian. Even going to Valparaiso University in Indiana didn't get me out of the area.  Which is OK since I love my city!

As if you couldn't tell already I love museums.  By love I really do mean love.  I don't just like going and breezing through them.  I can spend entire days in museums, I would probably sleep over at certain museums if they would let me.  I love them so much I just had to go to school for it and work at one!

I love my family and friends.  Most of the time my friends are my family as well.  You'll find that they show up all the time in Musings of a Museum Fanatic just because I'm always with them!  We can be out at the bar, having dinner, being tourists for the day or just sitting at home as long as I'm with my friends or family I'm cool.

I guess I shouldn't forget about the most important part of my family ... my husband Kevin!  It's been an interesting adventure since we met back in 2008. He's pretty crazy and kooky. In addition to the usual cast of family characters made up of my Mom, brother, sister in law and Kevin's parents we added a new member in 2014 with my nephew, Lane.

Don't worry this isn't just a blog about museums though!  I'm a dabbler, I love to do a little bit of everything.  From DIY to cooking to travelling and everything in between, I love it and love to talk about it!   Plus my guilty pleasures like way too much reality TV and Pinterest ... totally obsessed.

I also work as an Independent Consultant with Pampered Chef. To learn more about what I can offer through Pampered Chef, please visit my Pampered Chef website

For now Musings of a Museum Fanatic is about anything and everything that's going on in life.  I hope you stick around for the ride cause it will be a bumpy, fun and exciting one.

  1. I got my degree in Art History and Museum Studies and I totally feel you on the job opportunities..or lack thereof. I searched and searched for two years and never really found anything that actually paid (why do museums want you to work for free???). I'm currently taking a break to do the stay at home mommy thing :) Love your blog!!!
