Musings of a Museum Fanatic: About Me

About Me

I’m Betsy, the author of Musings of a Museum Fanatic. And I’m really freaking excited you’re here!! I’m a Chicago-based lifestyle blogger, museum enthusiast, culture junkie, and just working hard to get my fill.

I live my passion working at a local museum. I get to create exhibits, play with awesome historical things, solve genealogical mysteries through research and do cool museum things. I love to share any museum I encounter with friends, family and readers.

I’m powered by ice cream, sarcasm, a big smile, and to-do lists. I have never met an online survey I didn’t like or a tomato I did like, my family feeds my weirdness and I’m just trying hard to figure out this whole adult thing.

I guess I shouldn't forget about the most important part of my family ... my husband Kevin!  It's been an interesting adventure since we met back in 2008. He's pretty crazy and kooky. In addition to the usual cast of family characters made up of my Mom, brother, sister in law and Kevin's parents we added a new member in 2014 with my nephew, Lane.

I also work as an Independent Consultant with Pampered Chef. To learn more about what I can offer through Pampered Chef, please visit my Pampered Chef website

For now Musings of a Museum Fanatic is about anything and everything that's going on in life.  I hope you stick around for the ride cause it will be a bumpy, fun and exciting one.

  1. I got my degree in Art History and Museum Studies and I totally feel you on the job opportunities..or lack thereof. I searched and searched for two years and never really found anything that actually paid (why do museums want you to work for free???). I'm currently taking a break to do the stay at home mommy thing :) Love your blog!!!

  2. As an art degree grad too, I totally hear ya! It took me a long time to find a job!

  3. Just found your blog through the Find+Follow blog hop :]
I LOVE museums, too! I feel like we don't have enough of them here, but maybe I've just never lived in the right cities ;] I don't know how any one could be bored in those buildings--there's just so much awesome stuff!
Can't wait to read more of your adventures! Have a fabulous weekend!
